What is green noise?
Green noise does not have one universally agreed spectrum. NoiseSphere uses a broad band-pass filter centered around 500 Hz to create a mid-range texture from white noise. Other green noise players may sound different because they use different filters or recordings.
Make it your own
Listen to green noise alone to get familiar with its tone, then add birds or rain at a lower volume for a more varied sound space. Compare it with brown noise if you prefer a deeper sound, or pink noise for a broader wash.
Using this green noise player
Green noise is selected when you open this page. Press Play in the bottom bar to start. Use its slider for the individual sound and Master Volume for the whole mix. Add any of the other sounds without leaving the player.
Is green noise the same as a nature recording?
Not in this player. Our green noise is synthesized with a filter; rain, ocean and birds are separate recordings. You can blend those recordings into your mix, but the green noise itself is not recorded outdoors.
Can I set a timer?
Yes. Choose Set a timer at the top of the player, set a countdown, and start it. The audio fades out when time is up. You can also choose work sessions with breaks. Device sleep can interrupt browser playback or delay timer notifications.
Can I save and share my mix?
Use the heart in the player to save a favorite in this browser. The share button creates a link with your selected sounds and volume levels. The recipient presses Play to listen. Favorites and notes are stored locally, not synced to an account.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Use a modern browser with JavaScript and audio support. Playback starts after you interact with the player. The four colored noises are generated on your device; environmental recordings load when selected.
